HISTORY OF THE SENTUL MBS OBA

The Sentul Methodist Boys’ Old Boys’ Association had a humble beginning, just as its Alma Mater, with no fanfare or pomp. The aim was to cater for the interest of old boys and to foster closer relationship with the present boys and staff of the Primary and Secondary schools.

The seeds of the formation of the OBA were sown by some ardent old boys along with the late Mr.William Dudley and the late Mr.Arthur G. Lee in 1955. They felt that the students of the school needed to be assisted as the school was located in an area where most of the students came from low-income families. It was thought that the best way the Old Boys could help was to form an association which could provide scholarships for these students as well as to assist the school.

It was in early 1957 after a series of preliminary meetings that a Protem Committee was formed with Mr. T.A.Jegaraj as the Chairman and Mr.S.PerampaIam as the Secretary to draw up the Constitution of the OBA which they duly did..
